SUMMARY:TMA: Understanding Distressed Real Estate
DESCRIPTION:One of the lasting effects of the COVID pandemic is a deterioration of the commercial real estate market.  A confluence of issues have all led to the distress of commercial real estate.  These issues include higher vacancies\, increased remote work\, lower foot traffic in various cities\, general weakness in the retail environment (and a glut of retail mall space)\, lower income received by landlords\, higher interest rates\, and loans that are or will soon be maturing which may be difficult to refinance.  How will the commercial real estate market respond to these and other issues?  Our expert panel will discuss the legal and business issues at stake in the increasingly distressed real estate market.
